Craig Garner, a 31-year veteran of the firm, provides education and assistance in a number of areas, including plan document review, ERISA guidance and ongoing compliance education. Craig also conducts operational plan reviews that seek to help plan sponsors ensure that plan documents and plan sponsor policies are in concert. After thorough analysis, he helps plan sponsors identify any areas that may require attention, explore potential remedies, coordinate plan or policy amendments as needed, and navigate the correction of any errors in conjunction with the plan administrator. For employers with multiple plan vendors or multiple plans, he also helps assess the operational feasibility of consolidating vendors and plans in an effort to reduce administrative burden and participant confusion.
A member of the American Society of Pension Professionals and Actuaries, Craig has earned the designation of Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA). He is also chair of the National Association of Plan Advisors’ (NAPA) Retirement Plan Academy Advisory Group. The group designs professional development and training materials for NAPA’s nearly 8,000 members and 140 institutional firm partners who support advisors working in the retirement plan industry. Craig’s expertise is sought after at conferences and by ERISA attorneys throughout New England, and used in course content for the National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA).
Craig received his masters degree at the New England Conservatory, and studied actuarial mathematics at Boston College. He holds Series 6 and 63 securities registrations through LPL Financial, and series 65 through both LPL Financial and EIA.
